If you brought your fishing tackle, you can go fishing right in front of the Oxford Clubhouse any time. You will be amazed at the size and variety of fish in these waters...and how easy they can be to catch. If you're one of the two million Americans who surf regularly, then Rancho Santana should be on your destination list. Some experts rank Nicaragua's Pacific surf as the best in Central America - and Rancho Santana is in the heart of the action.
At Rancho Santana, surfers will find breaks ranging from hollow, A-frame breaks, to classic point breaks, to ruler-edged tubes and outer reef breaks. The surf at Rancho Santana benefits from the offshore winds that occur 330 days per year in southwest Nicaragua. The winds are accelerated across Nicaragua by the absence of mountains in the southwest region and by the presence of Lake Nicaragua to the east. As the NE winds sweep across the country toward the Pacific, they blow straight into the oncoming swells, creating clean hollow lines and almond shaped barrels-nearly every day of the year. And the wind blows all day long, affording the surfer with multi-session surf days.
Fine Dining, Local Entertainment & Famous Sunsets
 Saddle Back Bar & Grille on Santana Beach. The bar serves lunch and offers full bar service for afternoon and evening cocktails… all in a comfortable, alfresco atmosphere. They have sports on TV, music and live entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday by Joselito, Rancho Santana's romantic, one-man orchestra. While you're here, try a refreshing Macua, Nicaragua's official national drink.
Rancho Santana's Sea Garden Restaurant features fresh seafood and local meat dishes. Enjoy the intimate elegance of the dining room, or dine alfresco on the patio overlooking Santana Beach. Hiking, Biking & Fitness
Santana is home to a variety of tropical birds, small animals, crabs, frogs, plants, and even the occasional howler monkey. The best time to walk the trail in search of all this flora and fauna is early morning, just as the sun is coming up. The first section of the trail is about a mile long and easy hiking, mostly in the shade and along the estuary. When you meet the road, you can choose to continue or to head right, back to the Clubhouse. Mountain bikes are available for your use through the concierge. Bike the access road, the nature trails, along the cliffs, or through the neighborhoods. Wherever your trip takes you, you'll enjoy the famous views at Rancho Santana. On those rare days the weather doesn't cooperate, or when you just want a targeted workout, take advantage of the health and recreation center. The new center features a fully equipped exercise room, a yoga and pilates studio and a cardio fitness room.
Roberto Clemente Health Clinic
The Roberto Clemente Health Clinic is located just outside the entrance gate of Rancho Santana. Within this modern facility, the Clinic's small yet dedicated medical team provides health education, emergency care, and treatment for chronic health problems endemic to this part of the world. The Clinic opened its doors in 2004, thanks to generous donations of time
and money from the Granados family, the Rotary Club of Pittsburgh, and
executives of Agora Publishing. Today, it serves as a model health clinic
for all of Nicaragua. Over 3,000 residents rely on the Clinic as their
primary means of medical care. Medical professionals are on call 24 hours
per day, and there is a pharmacy located on-site.

The concierge can arrange a tour guide to escort you on a day trip anywhere in Nicaragua. See the volcanoes, the Masaya Market, the colonial architecture of Granada, the country's cathedrals, and do some shopping. You can arrange to take a canopy tour at Mambachu or hire a boat to take you on a tour and lunch at the islands of Granada. The popular coastal town of San Juan del Sur is only a 90-minute drive, with plenty of tourist activities. There is plenty to see along the Nicaraguan countryside with all its natural beauty and scenic stopping points.
The Old Stable Marketplace
A convenience store, gift shop and Internet cafe are available on-premises for your convenience. In the Feed Bag, you can purchase the basics and more, and the gift shop is stocked with genuine Nicaraguan handicrafts. La Bodequita features an excellent selection of liquors, premium beers and fine
wines, gourmet coffees and handmade cigars. A spa and salon is also in the plans for the near future, as well as plenty of new additions to ensure Rancho Santana continues to set the pace as a self-sustaining, state-of-the-art community for years to come.
A cell-phone tower has been installed by Bell South; high-speed Internet access is also available.
